This volume follows the story from the founding of Rovex Plastics Ltd. after the second world war, through the take-over by Tri-ang, the move to Margate and the rapid development of the Tri-ang Railways system as it outpaced its rivals and the eventual take-over of the rival Meccano Ltd. in 1964 after the close-down of their 0 gauge and Hornby-Dublo production.
The book also includes information about Tri-ang TT, Model-Land, Minix Cars, Minic Push-and-Go, Minic Motorways and Tri-ang Lionel Inventor and Science Sets.

A 2nd Edition of the book was released in the Summer of 2001. This has 32 extra pages of information including 300 new facts and 80 more photographs. The book also has a new cover design based on the 1962 (8th Edition) catalogue.
