Hornby Lyddle End Normoyle Folly Normoyle Folly.jpg (16281 bytes)

The Normoyle folly (N8698) is a single piece which consists of a large and a small round tower. A folly was not a real ruin but a feature built for its visual affect in the grounds of many of the grand estates during the 'Romantic' period of landscape design. The ideas were taken from the 'Romantic' oil paintings of the time. Many of these follies still exist.
