Nine models go together to make up the Lyddle End town gas works. The backs of the boxes in which the larger models come include a layout plan for a gas works using the models supplied. In all cases, windows are glazed. The 9 models are:

Small Gasholder N8737

The main body is cast in resin but the superstructure, railings and ladder are metal. The base of the tank is green and the 'extending' top, grey. The rest is in white (with patches of rust) except for the ladder which is black.

Retort House with Chimney N8738

These are two separate resin castings. The retort house is a large square looking building with ventilation in the ridge of the pitched roof. It is a red brick structure with a grey roof. It has a brown door in one end and three small arched windows high in each side. At the back of the building (at the opposite end to the door) there is a black pipe protruding from high in the wall and turning through 90^o passes down into the ground. The chimney is in a matching red brick.

Boiler House N8739

This is a single storey red brick building with a grey single pitch roof. In the roof is a chimney with vents around it. There are doors in both ends of the building. The short wall has a green framed window and what looks like a wooden cupboard mounted halfway up the wall.

Condenser Tower & Washer N8740

These are two separate and independent units with grey bases. A lot of trouble has gone into detailing these two models with some very realistic pipework and wheel valves.

Purifiers N8741

Like the condensing tower and washer, this is a well detailed model with some excellent pipework. It includes an overhead rail above a row of four tanks and fitted to the rail is a runner with an actual chain and hook hanging from it. The cast resin base is grey and the walls of the tanks are blue.

Office & Gates N8742

The office is a small red brick building with a grey pitched roof and a red chimney. The door is green and two windows (one at the front and one at the back) have green frames. The double compound gate is brown with grey posts and requires the wall sections to give it purpose. In the packaging, the gate appears to be missing but will be found packed underneath the building.

Stores N8743

This is a rectangular red brick building with a wide single green door in one end and, above it, a vent in the wall. The two side walls each have three very small windows, with green frames, high in the wall. The pitched roof is grey and, as with the other buildings in this series, the guttering and down pipes are black.

Straight Walls x 3 N8744

These 3 identical sections of brick wall are 14mm high and red to match the corner wall sections and buildings that make up the gas works. They have black capping stones.
