1E Promotionals Wagons
1E Promotionals have released two more private owner wagons, commissioned from Dapol Ltd. These are 7-plank Williams (WO5) and 8-plank John Facer & Son (BE6).
John Williams founded the company in 1847 and operated as a coal merchant based at Towchester station. When he died in the 1890s the company passed to his two sons and became Williams Bros. No.13 was recorded in use in the late 1930s by which time the company was trading as Fred Williams & Son.
John Facer & Son was the principal coal merchant in Luton and was a big customer of New Hucknall Collieries with purchases of up to 1000 tons of coal per week. No.120 was an 8-plank wagon supplied by Charles Roberts & Co. Ltd in 1921.
