There are four new high street businesses all of which have plain end walls so that they can be used in a terrace. These are Busby's hair salon (R8694), Wilkinson's florist shop (R8704), a bakers shop (R8703) and a new pub - The Saracen's Head (R8705).
Busby's Hair Salon is a small Tudor style building and has a dormer window in the roof and a chimney. There is a door and large window at the front and a door and small window at the rear.
Teesdale Bakery is brick-built and appears to be old. At the front there is a door and two modern windows on the ground floor and a large bay window on the first floor. A two storey extension protrudes at right-angles at the back.
Wilkinson's florist shop has at the front on the ground floor, a protruding window with a yellow sun canopy over it and an archway giving vehicular access to a yard behind. At the first floor level there are two sash type windows. The brick walls are painted white and the door into the shop is in the underpass.
The Saracen's Head is a thatched pub with dormer type pitches over first floor windows at the front of the building. The walls are white and the guttering, down-pipes and door are green. Near the front door there is an overhead light and a red menu board. The pub sign is on a pole which protrudes from the thatch.
