Hornby 7-Plank Firestone R63437-plk Firestone 19.jpg (79258 bytes)

The Firestone wagon is based on a real wagon from a fleet used to carry coal from the collieries to the Firestone Tyre & Rubber Co. at Brentford in Essex. It may also have been used for delivering tyres and other merchandise. The wagon was blue with the name in yellow outlined in white. It is strange that this colour scheme was used on the wagon because it is that of the rival Goodyear company! Firestone's colours were normally red and white.
