The Hornby Sealion bogie ballast hopper wagons make use of the body
moulding of the Lima Sealion of 1984 and detailing parts from the Hornby Seacow of 2005.
The model has been released in three different liveries with three different numbers for
each livery. Sealions are dual-braked and can be distinguished from Seacows by the
presence of two large vacuum cylinders on one end platform instead of the single much
smaller air brake mechanism. They were built from 1971 to 1974 and initially did not have
overhead shields to protect the staff. The shields are thought to have
been added to prevent
staff getting too close to overhead cables and it seems unlikely that they were seen
during the olive green period. The nine released so far are:
R6328A olive green DB892637
R6328B weathered olive green DB892638
R6328C weathered olive green DB892639
R6329A grey & yellow DB892782
R6329B weathered grey & yellow DB892783
R6329C weathered grey & yellow DB892784
