With the release of three more versions of the
former Lima Class 121 'Bubble Car', Hornby have taken the opportunity to correct some
inaccuracies that crept in with their first batch last year. The BR green version has been
re-released as R2509A and now has corrected 'whiskers', door and load markings along with
a brown destination box in the front cab window, instead of red on the previous model. The
car is numbered 'W55032'.
There was a lot of discussion about the wrap-round yellow on the front
of the Rail blue version last year and whether the yellow should have included the cab
doors. To overcome the problem, Hornby have now released the unit in blue with wrap-round
yellow ends that do not include the doors. This unit (R2668) is numbered 'W55024' with
'L124' on the cab fronts.
The final version is a repeat of the early Network SouthEast livery with its dark blue base colour and with 'Thames' service branding. This car (R2508A) is numbered '55025' and the TOPS number on the cab fronts given as '121025'.
