This volume, in the Middleton Press ultimate rail encyclopaedia, is from the Western Main Lines series and covers the Great Western Railway route from Worcester to Birmingham via Kidderminster. The line was built as part of the Oxford, Worcester & Wolverhampton Railway (OWWR) and, while the southern section is mainly rural, the rest runs through and area of great industrial importance. The great contrasts are revealed, as are the changes in rolling stock over the years. The book follows the tried and trusted formula used by Middleton Press for most of their books, making extensive use of old Ordnance Survey sheets to trace the route.
