There have been a number of railway atlases published over the years but this is one of the best. Now in its 11th Edition it has been updated to include changes to the current scene since May 2004. As the title implies, it covers all railways in the British Isles (including Alderney) and colour codes them according to whether they are part of the passenger network, municipal/urban railways, preserved lines or freight only. All stations, carriage sidings, freight marshalling yards, freight terminals, loco depots, proposed railways, railway works, junction names and shipping services are included. There are also different symbols for power stations, oil refineries, cement works, collieries etc. served by railways.
